Acquirer is a bank that processes online transactions for credit, debit cards, cash, and alternative payments.

What does acquiring banks do?

The acquiring bank plays an important role in the financial sector. It is impossible to provide any online transaction without it. Once the user has entered credit card details on the site, the payment must be authorized and confirmed. It is the acquiring bank that is responsible for authorization. Large acquiring banks can also issue plastic cards.
